Uninstalling Clash for Windows straight from the Control Panel occasionally leaves one nasty leftover: the system proxy still points at a now-dead 127.0.0.1:7890, so nothing loads after removal. Follow this order instead.

Step 1: restore network settings

  1. Open CFW and turn off System Proxy and TUN Mode on the General page.
  2. If you installed Service Mode, go to Settings → Service Mode and click Uninstall.
  3. Quit the app: right-click the tray cat → Quit.

Step 2: uninstall the program

Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Clash for Windows → Uninstall. Portable users simply delete the extracted folder.

Step 3: remove leftover files

Profiles and settings live in your user directory and are not removed by the uninstaller. If you are sure you won't return:

%USERPROFILE%\.config\clash

Paste the path into Explorer's address bar. The folder holds subscriptions, settings and caches; keeping it lets a future reinstall restore everything as-is.

Fixing "no internet after uninstall"

  1. Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy: turn off "Use a proxy server".
  2. If you used TUN: in Device Manager, uninstall any leftover network adapter named Clash.
  3. Run netsh winsock reset and reboot - this clears most residual network issues.
Tip: switching to another client temporarily? No need to uninstall - just make sure only one client has System Proxy/TUN enabled at a time.
